Italian Islands
Casetta Blu

The shared swimming pool

ntegrated into the ground floor of the luxury Villa Acquamarina, this self-contained and independent studio apartment offers spacious and newly refurbished interiors. Casetta Blu benefits from a shared pool and from a convenient location on the outskirts of Calasetta. This charming town on the north coast of Sant’Antioco Island has a great sandy beach, a bustling port and a variety of good restaurants.

Blue, maritime theme

Indoors: The blue theme is immediately evident in the brand new décor and furnishings. The fitted kitchenette is set back from the rest of the room and the separate shower room is beautifully tiled. A traditional fishing net hangs above the double bed and there is a fan should you need it. If you don’t want to dine outside, there is also an indoor dining table.

The shared pool lit at night

Outdoors: Just outside the entrance is a little patio area where guests can enjoy breakfast. On the opposite side of the grounds is a communal barbecue area with more seating. Perhaps the best feature is the large shared pool where you can indulge in a refreshing dip.

Bar on a popular beach

Surrounding Area: As Casetta Blu is situated on the periphery of Calasetta, it is only about a five-minute walk to the town centre, to the lively fishing and ferry port and to the sandy beach of Sottotorre, located beneath the old tower. Alternatively, just a five-minute drive away, are two long sandy beaches with transparent waters that are surrounded by nature. Other lovely beaches on the island, such as Maladroxia and Coaquaddus also take little time to reach by car. We thoroughly recommend exploring Sant’Antioco’s diverse coastline and more mountainous interior. There are several good options for eating out both in Calasetta and the nearby town of Sant’Antioco. Calasetta has a modern art museum and Sant’Antioco town has several ancient sites and a museum of antiquities. Just a short ferry trip away is the delightful and unspoilt island of San Pietro and the smart town of Carloforte. The mainland of Sardinia is quickly reached by car across the causeway at Sant’Antioco, and among other things you can visit the remarkable caves of Is Zuddas and the Necropolis of Montessu at Santadi and Monte Sirai at Carbonia.

Cala Lunga –
a well-kept secret

The tonnara overlooks crystal waters

Italian Islands Insight: For a third guest an extra single sofa bed can be added on request. For two couples or a family Casetta Blu can interconnect with Casetta Turchese. For larger groups these can also be rented with Casetta Azzurro and Casetta Celeste, all interconnecting internally. For family reunions or other party groups Villa Acquamarina can be hired alongside these casettas, sleeping 25 people in total with 11 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and private pool.

The town’s beach – ‘Sottotorre’

Pets are allowed at the property and the pool is normally open from June to September, but these times could be extended subject to requests and the weather, which is usually nice from late April to mid-October.

Casetta Blu is a good value option for a couple who are looking for a Sardinian holiday where they are not dependent on their hire car and who will also appreciate the additional bonus of a pool.
