Italian Islands
Il Cigno Blu

View from upstairs balcony

nvigorating long walks in the remarkably beautiful and unspoilt Zingaro Nature Reserve, refreshing dips in the turquoise waters after soaking up the sun on the soft sands of San Vito Lo Capo beach, sightseeing to explore the impressive remnants of Sicily’s past and eating out at excellent restaurants are just a few possible pastimes for guests of Il Cigno Blu.

The villetta has a front courtyard

Outdoors: Or you could just make the most of this villetta’s incredible panorama by sitting out on the terrace enjoying a tasty barbecued meal accompanied by a glass of full-bodied vino rosso! The stunning views from this side of the property take in mountain, landscape and sea. At the front of this terraced villetta that is located on a quiet no-through road is a little front garden equipped with table, chairs and deck chairs.

Indoors: The blue and white interiors are simply furnished in a modern style. Both sides of the living/dining room open onto the outdoors. This is a comfortable room with an area for dining and an area for relaxing where you can sit on the large sofa and watch Italian TV. The neat kitchen corner is well-equipped and the two shower rooms are nicely tiled. Both bedrooms - a double and a twin - are on the first floor and each has a small balcony.

Surrounding area: Il Cigno Blu is located in the characteristic little village of Macari on the piece of land that leads to the San Vito promontory. The interesting Macari coastline comprises a sandy beach as well as rocky coves and bays with crystal clear fish-rich waters. Just 3km away is the seaside resort of San Vito Lo Capo, which features a beautiful long sandy beach and plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants. Macari itself has a small shop just a short walk away from Il Cigno Blu and there is a good trattoria/pizzeria. Places of interest to visit nearby are the Zingaro Naure Reserve, the Reserve of Monte Cofano, the Greek temples of Segesta and Selinunte and the medieval mountaintop town of Erice which boasts breathtaking and far reaching views.

Italian Islands Insight: Guests of Il Cigno Blu would need to hire a car for initial arrival to the property, getting to nearby amenities and for sightseeing. The owner prefers not to rent the villetta to smokers and pets are not allowed.

The mountain backdrop

This two-storey terraced villetta is ideal for a family or for two couples and would suit those in search of a quiet location with the option of somewhere more lively nearby for the evening out. Families and friends who like to holiday together can also rent another villetta, La Rosa dei Venti, on the same road just one door down which belongs to a friend of Il Cigno Blu’s owner.
