The beautiful view of the beach just metres away Casa Faro takes its name from San Vito's lighthouse Located to one side of the bay of San Vito Lo Capo, where a harbour wall marks the end of the sparkling beach and the start of the fishing harbour, Casa Faro enjoys a quieter beachside location just five minutes stroll from the exciting centre of the picturesque resort. The inviting front terrace
Furnished to a high standard and decorated with taste, the wrought iron and ornate woodwork found in Casa Faro’s main living area are surpassed only by the view through the room’s window. This overlooks the beach and marina immediately in front of the property and sweeps round to encompass the entire sandy bay before being swiftly concluded by the immense mass of Monte Monaco, a rock so tall that it dwarves even a beach as large as San Vito Lo Capo’s. Outdoors: Casa Faro benefits from three outdoor areas: Beyond the gate that opens into the property is an area suitable for parking your car, but even this is beautifully tiled and can serve as a suntrap in which to recline. Up a few steps from this is the front terrace, where smart cane furniture adds a sense of luxury to the spectacular vista. To the rear of the property, and accessed through either the kitchen or the upstairs double bedroom, a third terrace contains dining furniture, a barbecue and a pair of sun loungers. This area, with colourful flowers in window boxes, is completely private and partially shaded but does not share the incredible view that can be witnessed from the front terrace and living area. Back terrace & barbecue
To the side of the property, a path bordered by plants and flowers leads up to the front of the property from the bedrooms that are situated on the lower level. The living area
Indoors: The owner’s excellent tastes are particularly evident in the décor and furnishings of the living room. The wrought iron dining table and chairs share a theme of ornate robustness with the cubic wooden armchairs and sofa that face the television, yet maintain a high degree of comfort. The upstairs double bedroom
Leading down to the lower level is a staircase with a wrought iron banister that matches the dining furniture, but the theme downstairs is elaborate tiling. The shower room in particular espouses this theme, where pale tiles stretching to the ceiling give a Roman feel that contrasts with the modern corner shower. The stylish dining area
Next door to the shower room is the downstairs double bedroom, with air-conditioning, a large wooden wardrobe and a window that opens onto the path outside. The bunk bedroom is to the other side of the shower room and has a fan and French door opening into the external passage. Although there is a chest of drawers, there is also a built-in wardrobe in the corridor outside for the use of this bedroom. The downstairs double bedroom
In the large upstairs double bedroom, white walls complement the blue furnishings and wooden wardrobe. The room is air-conditioned and has French doors that open onto the patio outside. Adjacent to this bedroom is the large, separate kitchen with its sparkling white surfaces, washing machine, stereo/cd player, blender and assorted other kitchen and household utensils. A second shower room, with yellow and white tiling, is also on this floor. Surrounding area: In San Vito Lo Capo you have the ideal Italian beach resort with a fantastic beach and a bustling high street lined with gelaterias, restaurants and bars. Every visitor will find something they appreciate about this town, whether it be the beach, the culinary delights, the couscous festival and its attendant celebration of diversity or the proximity to marvellous examples of unspoilt natural beauty. Further afield, there are many more delights to discover including the mountain top town of Erice and the wonderful temple of Segesta. San Vito's fortified church

Sightseeing: Macari, Zingaro Reserve, Erice, Scopello, Selinunte, Trapani, Castellammare del Golfo, the Egadi Islands. Italian Islands Insight: At Casa Faro you will find it hard to decide whether you want to be in or out! Inside, the tasteful and original décor is a delight to behold but the exteriors feature some of the best views you will ever see. The easiest decision to take is to head for the beach just 20m away, where swimming in the multi-toned blue waters and looking back across the expanse of sparkling sand to Monte Monaco will ease all your worries away. Car hire is not essential for residents of Casa Faro as they can walk to all amenities and if they wish to visit more of Sicily, they can always hire a car for the day. It is probably a good idea to hire transport for the duration of your stay, however, as you would be much more self sufficient, and there is certainly a great deal to explore. The comfy front terrace
Casa Faro is a good option for a large family or a group of friends who want a beach holiday in a lively small resort - though this is just the tip of the iceberg, the allure of the town and the surrounding region is such that you will be tempted to return time after time. |
