Beach by Benice Nature Reserve
Surrounding area: Marinella di Selinunte has a good atmosphere and as well as the sandy beaches and the plentiful restaurants and bars, there is the beautiful Belice nature reserve - a great place to walk in, to admire the flora and fauna, and to treat yourself to some tasty lobster dishes at the restaurant on the beach there. Not to be missed for history lovers is a day out nearby at the largest archaeological park in Europe for Ancient Greek remains. Here you will find a large and impressive Doric temple and the remains of an acropolis, and if you don’t feel like walking around the large site you can hire a guide and a golf buggy! Also nearby are the Cave di Cusa quarries, where partially cut temple pillars remain abandoned from the 5th Century BC. Other attractions in the South and West of Sicily are easy to get to by car since the road Villetta Hera is situated on soon connects with the main road to other parts of the region. Sightseeing: Selinunte & the Cusa quarries. Porto Palo & Belice Nature Reserve. Marsala. Sciacca. Caltabellotta. Agrigento & Eraclea Minoa. Segesta. Castellammare del Golfo. Zingaro Nature Reserve. Erice. Trapani. Egadi Islands. Palermo. Marina Marinella di Selinunte

Indoors: The pleasant and comfortable interiors have new furnishings and the glossy antique marbled flooring stylishly connects one room to the next. There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a shower room. The main living area is nicely decorated and benefits from air conditioning. It has a dining table, a sofa, wicker armchairs and a TV, and it opens out onto a narrow raised patio at the front of the property. Behind the living room is the kitchenette with 4-ring hob, gas oven and fridge-freezer and from here a door opens out onto the side of the property where there is a covered terrace. Compact kitchen

Outdoors: The villetta is fully enclosed with high secure gates at the main entrance. There is a front courtyard with plenty of space to park your car on site. There is a narrow tiled patio at Hera’s entry and round one side of the property is the terrace. This spot is equipped with a barbecue and tables and chairs so you can dine outdoors if you wish. Italian Islands Insight: The villetta is detached on both sides but is joined back-to-back with another property in our collection, Villetta Zeus, so both could be rented at once if two families wanted to holiday together. The owner’s friendly niece lives in the nearby town of Castelvetrano and is a good person to have on hand, as she works as a local tour guide and speaks excellent English. The property benefits from being in easy walking distance of a great restaurant and a slightly longer walk from other good places to eat out, so you would not have to use your hire car every night although we do recommend that you rent one. In the main summer season there is a local bus service from the bus stop near the house. Villetta Hera is an affordable option for two couples or a family and is especially suited to those who, as well as making use of the many local amenities, want to do lots of sightseeing and have a clean, comfortable and conveniently located place to return to in the evenings.
